Why are women still underpaid in New Brunswick?

New Brunswick needs pay equity legislation for the private sector, and all political parties must commit to it!

New Brunswick women are still underpaid because we don’t have pay equity legislation in the private sector.

Pay equity is equal pay for work of equal value.

To achieve pay equity, the value of women-dominated jobs must be compared to the value of men-dominated jobs.


Jobs are evaluated according to four factors:

How can we make
this happen?

We need a commitment from every political party to adopt pay equity legislation for the private sector.

The Coalition for Pay Equity has spent more than 20 years fighting for the adoption of legislation in the private sector. But we need the political will to make it happen!

The next provincial elections are our best chance to put pressure on each party to commit to pay equity legislation.
